I’ve just watched the first part of the much hyped eco-drama Burn Up this evening.
Having listened to some of the promotion on Radio Five Live a couple of days ago, I was keen to watch the programme and wasn’t disappointed. This topical thriller sees oil company executives, environmental activists and politicians collide in the battle between economic success and ecological responsibility.
My problem is that like many people, I’m a believer that global warming is highly likely to be happening, but I do very little. I watch programmes like this, and it makes me think I should do something, but then I get in my 4×4 car the next morning, switch my computer on in my office and listen to the machines in the factory making uPVC windows.
Coincidently, today I watched the latest Al Gore video on the We Can Solve It website:
The science seems to suggest we haven’t got long to change the way we live our lives.
But can we really solve it?

I t seems as though one of the biggest culprits (USA) of global warming/wars over oil etc. is starting to take note. It would be great if they get the bug and we (as we normally do) follow suit.
